Wellness tourism is on the rise, with a new focus on ‘active’ wellness. According to the Global Wellness Institute, wellness trips are projected to account for 8.3% of all tourism trips by 2027, up from 7.8% in 2022 and 5.8% a decade earlier. Its data also indicates that wellness tourism will grow faster than overall tourism between 2022 and 2027, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.6% for wellness tourism, compared to a CAGR of 14.9% for overall tourism.

Within the overall wellness market, global wellness real estate is booming, according to the Global Wellness Institute’s figures.
