On the back of her decades of industry experience, Maureen established Talented Kids Performing Arts School & MVW Talent Agency for All Ages by way of delivering personal, individual experiences to build on the existing gifts of all of the actors and the performers it represents. Running drama, dancing, singing, and musical theatre classes for 3–20-year-olds every Friday and Saturday in both Dublin and Kildare, Talented Kids Performing Arts School is anchored by a terrific group of knowledgeable and professionally experienced teachers, with these individuals crafting fun, educational environments where students can express themselves and develop their talent to the full. Maureen tells us: “Our classes at Talented Kids Performing Arts School help students as young as three to harbour their talent and develop their skills, skills like confidence building and finding their voices, which are not only needed in the world of performing arts, but which are just as necessary for success in everyday life.” Maureen continues: “We have seen students who didn’t even want to speak in their first classes gain the confidence to jump out on stage and steal the show!” Many of the adults MVW Talent Agency represents were once students of Talented Kids PAS and watching them grow personally and professionally is definitely one of the most rewarding aspects of the job for Maureen and her all-female team. Moreover, Maureen adds: “Most staff members have been with us from the agency’s conception and others are previous Talented Kids students who are now working alongside us.” Following on from this, it should come as no surprise that MVW Talent Agency’s culture is built on creativity and friendship, with everyone working together to offer more than just the sum of their parts. The magical projects that have arisen as a result are testaments to this approach – especially when it comes to the 15 short films and music videos made by students and the team over the course of around seven months last year. Covering everything from writing scripts and casting to amassing an outstanding behind-the-scenes crew to film and edit the scenes, this was a fantastic opportunity for the agency at every level. Furthermore, in the case of the music videos they made, the group even wrote, recorded, and produced their own songs, which is something that very few of them had been able to try before. Although these films and videos were screened all over the world, being represented at festivals in the likes of London, Italy and Los Angeles and even winning some awards, a personal highlight for Maureen was showing these films at the local Lucan Spa Hotel as a part of the agency’s 21st anniversary celebrations. “Although this was a massive feat,” Maureen says, “there is no rest in sight yet as we have been very busy this year submitting films to various festivals.” Lastly, Maureen is incredibly excited to announce to our readers that the group will be creating their own original musical totally from scratch later this year, with a similar process being employed to the one used in the creation of its acclaimed short films and music videos. Set to feature original songs and striking new choreography, the musical will be showcased in the form of a stage show in November, marking an exciting end to 2025.
