Established as Limerick county's Most Hospitable Regional Community Event Venue, St. Munchin's offers the locals a diverse scope of services. Frommeals at their community café, afternoon tea, Meals onWheels to seniors provided six days a week, and SeniorWednesday Club, which includes dinner, bingo, sing-songs and monthly dances, St. Munchin's has been taking care of the community for 17 years. Established in 2005, St. Munchin's Community Center offers a plethora of services to the county of Limerick, with a majority being stated above; the centre also offers a hair and beauty salon, flower shop, adult education classes and the ability to rent an allotment bed for a year. The centre offers hot school lunches for the CBS primary school. Concerning their adult education classes, St. Munchin's courses are ran in conjunction with the Limerick and Clare Education Training Board in Limerick, of which the following classes take place. QQI level 5 in Hairdressing, Care of the older person, other QQI courses and basic literacy, computer skills, text and email, and any classes the community what. At St. Munchin's, the overall objective of the community centre is to provide several inclusions, such as a central, accessible hub to accommodate local service providers, to act as a meeting space for the local community and volunteer groups, to address isolation and social exclusion for older members of the community and respond to the local needs of individuals. Linda expands on this notion by stating, "At St. Munchin's, we offer a range of services to meet the needs of all age groups. Within our community centre, people will use many of our services, have conversations with our friendly staff and feel included. For example, we always contact our seniors who use our Meals and Wheels service via telephone to chat and ask them what they would like from the menu every week. We like to keep close contact and ensure that everything is okay." The generous, compassionate, and considerate care instilled in the community centre is precisely why it is so highly regarded and leaned on by the Limerick locals.
