2018 Irish Enterprise Award
26 EU BUSINESS NEWS / 2018 Irish Enterprise Awards , Recognised Leaders in Irish Street Food - Dublin Eatyard is a one of a kind casual dining experience in Dublin, offering a unique space where guests can socialise, eat, drink and listen to great music, all at an affordable price. We profile the establishment to find out more. Eatyard is an innovative concept that offers a great setting and atmosphere for people to meet, socialise and enjoy great food and drinks. The establishment has a programme of events on its Eatyard stage that include everything from cooking demos, to engaging talks to eating competitions. Bodytonic, the firm behind Eatyard, draws on more than 10 years’ experience in the industry, and the team created the concept from the beginning, growing for a number of years from its annual Beatyard & Big Grill festivals, the various flea and car boot sales they have hosted and numerous trips to destinations like Austin, London, South Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Eatyard’s aim is to elevate Irish Street Food to a new level and bring a unique casual dining experience to Dublin. To achieve this, the team always on the hunt for innovative and creative food producers, chefs, cooks or vendors who follow the ethos of doing something simple really well. Whether they are coming to the market for the first time or bringing their talents from an established kitchen out to the streets, the team are always on the lookout for new talent. Although a number of the vendors and chefs are international, predominantly the market works with local, Irish participants to offer an authentic take on the region’s street food scene. Being based in Dublin offers Eatyard many advantages, as the region boasts a constant hunger for new and exciting flavours combined with easy access to bounteous fresh produce and a wide variety of talented visionaries all committed to showcasing their unique ideas. In the wider outdoor food market, there is currently a trend within the industry of taking market stalls to the high street in a short period of time. Eatyard is great platform for new food businesses to trial the market with relatively low overheads and without committing to long term leases. Ireland is producing some of the best quality produce in the world right now with some of the most innovative chefs to showcase them, our aim is to encourage these innovators to get to market and develop high quality sustainable food businesses. Overall, the firm’s dedicated team always strive to keep innovating and evolving the space with the aim of keeping it running for many years to come. For Bodytonic, the future will involve a focus on completing its Pot Duggan’s project this year. It will feature an outdoor events yard space perfect for events, weddings, parties, markets, music shows. There will also be some small accommodation incorporated into the project, and this will literally have a secret door that backs out onto a secret area beside the Clare River. This passion project will perfectly complement Eatyard and offer visitors a new perspective on Irish revelry. GBA17001 BLUE HARE JUST WING IT
