Adrian Zierer, CEO of Charge Construct, has been leading the way for the industry and offers his invaluable insight into a sector of the market that is only going to grow in the years to come. Civil engineering and electrical installation are two of the essential aspects of growing the infrastructure required for electric mobility, but they are also two of the hardest to find. “We we support companies of all types and sizes to set up charging points. Besides that we help operators, manufacturers and fullservice providers of charging infrastructure to scale their own business models by ensuring that charging infrastructure projects are implemented quickly and professionally,” explains Adrian. “As a general contractor, we take on the construction of charging infrastructure and offer civil engineering and electrical installation from a single source. As a reliable partner, we also take over operation including billing.” As a resource, Charge Construct has been able to adapt quickly to the constantly evolving needs of the moment. It’s not enough to provide leading support, companies of this sort must guide the way forward for the industry as a whole. Adrian has had an innovative approach to business since a young age. “Back in school, I was allowed to found my own company as CEO within an initiative and set it up together with 14 classmates,” he tells us. This business, creating customizable seat cushions was the first step on a journey which saw him travel the world and learn a great deal about management consulting and the automotive industry. Eventually, he found himself at Elli, a brand of Volkswagen where he established the business of operating charging infrastructure. “I have always regretted that Elli itself did not have an offer for the construction of charging infrastructure and gave this business to competitors,” he smiles, so Charge Construct was the logical consequence.” This logical consequence built on years of expertise. To Adrian and his team, e-mobility is not just a toolbox, it’s a concept waiting to be explored. No two people’s needs are the same. “I am therefore firmly convinced that a charging concept that is individually tailored to the needs and requirements of the customer is elementarily important for the success of the project and customer satisfaction,” Adrian explains. “That is why we place particular emphasis on our consulting services in the early phase of the project and then offer all services for the implementation and operation of the charging infrastructure as a one-stop shop.” The future seems bright therefore, for this impressive company. There is a clear ambition, with a social awareness that reflects the desires of many looking for jobs at the moment. “As a startup, we can't pay the salaries of a car manufacturer,” Adrian tells us. “Therefore, from my point of view, it is crucial to establish a corporate culture that is more attractive than that of a large industrial company. It's also about giving employees a perspective and a fast learning curve.” This awareness of what will drive, not only the industry but the company forward, is key to Adrian’s success. He has developed a business which started with two people and has grown to a team of thirty within a year. It’s clear that Adrian’s dream will have an enormous impact on Germany as a whole. When looking at Adrian’s career, it has naturally built up to Charge Construct. “Charge Construct and e-mobility is a long-term chapter of mine,” Adrian informs us. “For now, I want to establish a company in the market that is powerful and for which the best talents would like to work every day.” Is there any greater secret to long lasting success than that?
