From this moment, Gerhard knew his calling, and his future was set. As an expert navigating the animation and visualisation landscapes all these years later, he is continuing to nurture this passion, tackling new challenges every day, from creating objects and landscapes to even bringing whole worlds to life. From 2005 until founding Botterman Visuals in 2021, Gerhard was employed at a variety of agencies across Austria, being celebrated along with - the last agency where he was employed - in 2019 with a Corporate Media & TV Award in Cannes. Under his own steam, Gerhard today specialises in three key topic areas, 2D/3D animation, 3D visualisation, and VFX composting. Through his 2D and 3D animation offerings, Gerhard can support his customers by creating 2D animations to be used in complex workflows and processes, and 3D animations to be used in areas such as logos, lettering, graphics, and models. This is in addition to image videos, event visuals suitable for animating or simulating the abstract, using motion design/graphics to turn graphic elements into live animations, and finally, using modern software tools such as After Effects and Maya. Across this area, Gerhard’s precision means that reliable assistance can be afforded, and tight deadlines met. When it comes to the realm of 3D visualisation, first impressions matter. These are the most sought-after by those manufacturing technical products or seeking to evoke emotion across a company website, film, or advertisement. Since this type of visualisation aims to bring hand-drawn sketches to life, looking as realistic as possible, it is impossible without the necessary skill, something that Gerhard has effortlessly picked up after more than 15 years. Gerhard can aid immeasurably by creating 3D logos/lettering, 3D visualisations suitable for product presentations, and 3D rendering that can utilised across advertising and film. Once more, this is all possible by using the latest and greatest software in the 3D visualisation space. The final area of service is VFX composting, where Gerhard expertly undertakes the crafting of post-production/composition, creates visual effects that can be used in product images, films, and branding/explanatory business videos, and finally, integrates photorealistic elements. Building off his expertise in 2D and 3D has been key as Gerhard seeks to make waves in the VFX industry and Best Newcomer in Corporate Video Production - Austria One cannot begin to grasp Bottermann Visuals e.U. without first understanding its namesake, Founder Gerhard Bottermann. We speak to Gerhard in order to learn more about this venture. expand this element of his business. So far, he has taken part in two short films, and eagerly awaits more projects in this area. Operating in such a field highlights Gerhard’s childhood dreams coming true, and the man who started out in the industry almost two decades ago would surely be proud to see how far he has come. While he may no longer be the 20-year-old just starting out in the business, Gerhard can now leverage his 17 years of direct industry experience operating within the media sector to complete projects faster and to a higher standard. Cost-effectiveness is a key selling point for Botterman Visuals, something that is a direct result of Gerhard’s “experience, punctuality, and reliability throughout the entire project period.” Equally essential to Gerhard’s success has been the stellar advice he gives to his customers, addressing any practicalities and ensuring they are not sold something unnecessary. In spite of these negative points, AI does have some uses in the operations of Botterman Visuals, and as Gerhard tells us, “I also use AI but always together with plugins for my main programmes, so that certain tasks can be solved faster and (sometimes) more precisely.” AI is something that could ultimately become incredibly useful in the future, but it will require the efforts of politicians and lawmakers to put the relevant legislation in place that can stop it from being used to exploit businesses and customers. Outside of the technological sphere, Gerhard shifts his focus to talk about his home base of Europe, and some of the benefits and G Contact Details Contact: Gerhard Bottermann Company: Bottermann Visuals e.U.
