EU Business News is excited to announce that the Scandinavian Business Awards are returning for a fifth consecutive year in 2024! This programme has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2019, evolving into one of the most popular award campaigns in our growing portfolio.
Thanks to their world-leading welfare system, open business market, and highly educated and skilled workforce, Scandinavia is now considered to be one of the best places globally to do business. While Denmark, Norway, and Sweden do share many similarities in business and culture, they also form a very diverse region with impressive economic strength and many top performing industry sectors.
Sweden is a major exporter of forest products, and it’s capital Stockholm is home to a thriving startup environment. Denmark is a leading producer of telecommunications technology, while Norway enjoys rich natural resources and ongoing investments into its infrastructure and transport sectors. The whole of Scandinavia also has a keen interest in improving their standing in the global Healthcare industry. Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have some of the best health systems in the world, which is driving advancements in MedTech, Life Sciences, and Digital Health markets.
Scandinavian countries have a combined total of twenty million consumers whose spending power is much higher on average than across the rest of Europe. In addition to this disposable income, Scandinavian consumers are also renowned for their rapid adoption of new products and technologies in comparison to other demographics. This has been a key factor in influencing Scandinavia’s reputation as a central hub for innovation and digital transformation. In a recent study of 137 new products, the time-to-take-off period was fifty percent shorter in Scandinavian countries, with Denmark being reported as the fastest adopter overall. This shows how lucrative expanding into the Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish markets can be for businesses.
Here at EU Business News, we want to highlight this appetite for entrepreneurship that has been sweeping Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and recognise the industry gamechangers who are driving innovation and growth across the Scandinavian markets. The team at EU Business News will work diligently over the next few months to make the Scandinavian Business Awards 2024 the preeminent guide to the best businesses Scandinavia has to offer. Our experienced in-house research and judging team base their winners’ selection on unbiased criteria such as company performance, client reviews/recommendations, product launches, and social media presence. This approach ensures that every recipient is chosen based on merit and is fully deserving of the award.
Taking part in the Scandinavian Business Awards 2024 has many benefits, as receiving an award not only boosts staff morale, but can also assist in attracting new customers and sets businesses apart from their competitors. All of our winners are entitled to a free-of-charge marketing toolkit, as we continue our commitment to not being pay-to-play. For those winners looking to take advantage of the promotional benefits of appearing in the Scandinavian Business Awards, we also offer additional commercial package options to maximise recipients’ exposure across the EU Business News platform and beyond.

The EU Business News team work hard in identifying great businesses, driving many of the nominations themselves. We also encourage external nominations from the subscribers of the magazine, online visitors, social media followers, clients and wider circulation. Nominating parties are invited to put forward either their own business or third-party companies whom they hold in high regard.
All nominees are formally requested to accept their nomination. Should any firm or individual decline at this point, they are simply taken out of the running. Those who formally accept are given the opportunity to submit additional supporting information to cement their nomination. Although there is no obligation to complete and supply material, we have found that many nominees value this stage, in the process, as much as our research team do.
Our dedicated research team will assess all information presented to them. The team gather information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which are assessed alongside any material supplied by a nominating party or the nominee themselves. The research team casts their final judgment, based on various criteria such as: business performance, longevity, business growth (either sustained or rapid), any significant innovations or feedback from stakeholders.
Once winners are selected, they are personally notified before any public announcement is made, allowing time for any communications throughout the wider business and the coordination of marketing strategies. Unfortunately, not everyone can be a winner; however, all who take part are encouraged to come back next year. Once the press embargo is lifted, details of our award winners will be made public via the website, award winners’ magazine and subscriber newsletter.
We are prepared to offer a range of promotional packages and items to winners of a EU Business News award, which vary from inclusion in the free-of-charge winners’ directory, to trophies, content in our magazine and on our website.
We encourage all winners to publicly announce their win independently in order to gain maximum exposure for their win. Announcements via company websites, social media, via publicly released press releases, and through local and national press are all great ways of maximising the exposure which can be gained from such a great achievement. If you have need of further advice, on how to publicise your win, please feel free to get in touch. We are happy to assist our clients with their needs.
The Nomination Team can assist with answering any queries that you have regarding a nomination, or the process involved in taking part in one of our award programmes.
Please get in touch with us via email or over the phone if you have any questions - we are happy to help!
